A Guide to Gateway Diagnostic Imaging Services

Receiving diagnostic imaging services shouldn’t be a stressful experience. At Gateway Diagnostic Imaging, we strive to make the process as smooth and easy as possible. Here’s everything you need to know about receiving imaging services at Gateway Diagnostic Imaging, including what services we offer, how to schedule, and which insurances we accept.

Where are Gateway Diagnostic Imaging centers located?

Gateway Diagnostic Imaging has twelve convenient locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Find a location near you.

What services does Gateway Diagnostic Imaging offer?

Gateway Diagnostic Imaging offers MRI, CT, ultrasound, and X-ray. At all twelve locations, we offer 3T wide-bore MRI for reduced scan time and higher resolution images. All scan results are read by board-certified, subspecialized radiologists. Learn more about our services.

Do I need a referral?

An order from your doctor is required for MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound. Most insurance companies require a referral if you want them to cover the cost of your scan.

How can I book an appointment at Gateway Diagnostic Imaging?

You can request an appointment on our website.

Your doctor may also opt to fax orders directly to Gateway. In that case, our customer service team will reach out once we’ve received your order to schedule an appointment.

How soon can I expect to get an appointment?

Many patients are able to be seen same-day or the next day. This can change depending on authorization from your insurance company.

I’m not available for appointments during the work day. Can I still receive imaging at Gateway Diagnostic Imaging?

Yes! We know many of our patients have jobs, caregiving responsibilities, and other obligations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We offer flexible weekend, early morning, and evening hours to make sure you get the imaging you need at a time that’s best for you.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

Before your appointment, we’ll send you paperwork to fill out online. All you need to bring with you to your appointment is your photo ID and insurance card, unless you’re instructed otherwise.

I get claustrophobic or struggle with anxiety around medical imaging. How can Gateway Diagnostic Imaging help?

If you struggle with claustrophobia, we have several options that can help. Our 3T 70-centimeter wide-bore MRI machines feel less enclosed, leading to less anxiety than other MRI machines. We also offer machines that allow you to enter first with your head facing out, which can reduce feelings of claustrophobia.

For all MRI scans, we offer headphones so you can listen to music during your scan.

Does Gateway Diagnostic Imaging accept insurance?

We are in-network with all major insurance companies, including Blue Cross® Blue Shield®, UnitedHealthcare®, Aetna®, and Cigna®, and we accept CareCredit®.

If you’re worried about the cost, we’re here to help. We have a financial assistance program available to those who qualify and self-pay rates for anyone without insurance. We also work hard to ensure our imaging is affordable, with our MRIs costing up to 400% less than hospital MRIs.

Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to receiving the care you need. Learn more about Gateway Diagnostic Imaging’s financial assistance program.

We know the process of getting any medical care, including diagnostic imaging, can be confusing. If you have more questions about receiving diagnostic imaging, reach out to our team and we’d be happy to help.
